Back to the archived newsletter…
🌬 It’s the end of November, and as the winter chill sets in, I’ve got some news regarding the newsletter (and apologies for the delay)
Initially I was going to announce that our monthly newsletter is going to be bi-monthly as it’s quite a lot of work getting it ready each month.
For those who don’t know, Revue is owned by Twitter and it’s going to be shutdown this year, so not long left! 😱
🔜 With that in mind, we will be moving to substack (which I was trying out before, and the choice was Revue and Bulletin, which also went away. 😟)
What happens with all of you amazing subscribers who have supported me all these years? I’ll move all current subscribers to our substack publication, you will still have the option to stay as a subscriber (or unsubscribe). Of course, we hope to stay with us. 🥰
🫡 And now we are back on track, this newsletter will be November & December edition, so the diversity in tech events listings below will also include December also.
🤔 Attended or planning to attend events this month? Share your thoughts with us on Twitter.
📢 As part of our curated events, if you want yours to be included, drop us an email as contact@codinggrace.com
Mick and I (with our Coding Grace hats on) visited Sligo earlier this month to run a Django Workshop hosted and organised by Overstock Ireland. It was a booked out event and lots of enthusiastic folks learning and inquisitive about Python and Django. I’ve a quick write up of the day also here >>>
For anyone in the games making industry, especially if you are working on your own or a small indie studio, “a new 32% tax credit for video game companies” was formally signed into legislation by Government on Nov 21. 👏 Well done to folks involved (especially those from imirt.ie).
If you haven’t seen the iWish report 2022 since the last newsletter, you should check out the survey results from Transition Year students on STEM, there seems to be progress and of course, still a lot of work needs to be done. Do get involved with the next iWish and share your journey with these students, and open their eyes to possibilities.
While we are on the subject of inspiring folks especially “Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs”, it’s actually a programme recently launched which “aims to encourage women who have not yet taken the steps towards starting a business”.
🛟 With all the doom and gloom of layoffs in tech, don’t forget that there’s a big community on irishtechcommunity.com, a slack forum where you can also find jobs posted by the techie community. This is where the community rally to help each other.
If you are working for a company or run one, maybe you can help

📢 RITA is now one our regulars here now as they are doing an amazing job. If you don’t know, they are to creating “a community of advocates and a central resource for folks interested in living and working in rural Ireland”. Interested in getting involved with RITA (especially their call for a rep in Fermanagh, see tweet)? Head over to rita.ie for more info.
